Motrin Pills are pain relievers that focus on treating pain caused by dysmenorrhea, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It can also be used to treat back pain, headache, toothache and minor injuries. It belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory group of drugs (NSAIDs). This group works against hormones that cause inflammation and pain.
Do not take more than 3200mg of Motrin within a 24 hour period.
Talk to your doctor about your full medical history and reveal any medication you are currently taking. Do not take Motrin if you have angioedema or nasal polyps. Alert your doctor if you suffer from bronchospastic reactivity to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
Do not double dose on Motrin. Take a missed dose only if you remember it hours away from your next scheduled dose. Do not take the missed dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, in which case you wait for that next dose and proceed as scheduled from there.
If taking Motrin, you may suffer from gastrointestinal problems or may experience blurred vision or some changes in color vision. If allergic, you may suffer an allergic reaction characterized by hives, breathing difficulty, tightening of the throat, itching and swelling.
Keep Motrin at room temperature. Make sure you keep it, along with other drugs, away from t he reach of children.
If you or someone else has ingested large doses of Motrin at one time, call for emergency medical attention. While waiting, you can try to force vomiting.
Call your doctor if you begin experiencing symptoms such as edema, weight gain, blurred vision, skin rash and gastrointestinal ulceration. Your dose may be changed or there may be an underlying factor to your symptoms.
