Uses as a Drug

Mircette is an oral contraceptive pill that contains desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol and ethinyl estradiol. It will effectively prevent pregnancy if instructions are followed accurately.

If you are taking the 21 pill pack, take one pill every day at the same time. Then, you do not take a pill for seven days. This rest period will allow you to menstruate. Take a new pack on the eighth day. If you are taking the 28 pill pack instead, you take one pill every day at the same time. The last seven pills of the pack have a different color. These are the placebo pills or pills with no active ingredients. During the time you are taking the placebo pills, you will menstruate.
