Uses as a Drug

Nasacort AQ is an FDA approved nasal spray that is designed to relieve nasal symptoms that include congestion, an itchy runny nose and sneezing. In short, the product treats nasal allergy symptoms. It is only available through prescription and is given only to patients ages 12 and older.

The nasal spray is inhaled via the nose. Before spraying, you should blow your nose to clear the nostrils. Then, you spray once through each nostril. Avoid blowing your nose up to 15 minutes afterwards. You can only inhale the product up to 4 times daily.

Safety Precautions

Nasacort AQ inhibits the effects of some medicine used to treat bacterial, fungal or viral infections. So you should inform your doctor if you are suffering from any of those infections. The nasal spray’s effects on the unborn child or the quality of breast milk have not yet been determined. Because of this, you should inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor will know whether to prescribe you a lower dose or to advise you against using Nasacort AQ.
